Hemlock's Story
Meet Hemlock! He’s as sweet as they come, polite as can be, and undeniably a miniature version of a Great Dane.

This handsome little shadow spends much of his time glued to his foster mom’s side, but occasionally he'll sneak off to lounge in a sunny patch, blissfully unconcerned about her whereabouts. He came in to the Haven seriously underweight but has been taking advantage of all the free grub to start putting some weight back on.

Hemlock enjoys his strolls around the neighborhood and does well on the leash, although he is not looking to make friends with the other dogs he might encounter on his walks. He is housetrained and generally sleeps through the night without issue. He does not love being left alone or riding in the car and benefits from the assistance of anti-anxiety medications. He can see and hear some, but not as well as he could in his youth. He can manage some stairs but would rather not have to go up and down long flights.

Hemlock would love for his new home to have a fenced yard, so he can get his sniffing on. He also wants to go for lots of walks and get plenty of snuggles. He'd prefer for his humans to be home most of the time and to be the only pet in the household. He has done well with older children; we haven't had a chance to observe him with tiny tots. He loves sleeping on people's laps or in large soft dog beds.

Hemlock is approximately 12 years old and 19 lbs.

Fostered in Winchester, VA
Please apply at MirisHaven.org
