"Hello, I'm Helios. I might be young, but I'm wise beyond my years. I'm a bit shy, but once I get to know you, we'll be the best of friends. I'm smart too, you know. I've figured out a lot of things on my own, like how to sit on command. I'm also gentle, I promise not to chew on your shoes or jump on your guests. I like my quiet time, it's when I do my best thinking. I'm looking for a forever home where I can share my love and intelligence. Adopt me, I promise to be your loyal and loving companion."

Like the sun, Helios will 'light up your life'. Though socialization came after she was 6 months old, after a warmup, Helios will shower you with love. Diligently working on her socialization skills, Helios rises to the challenge and will make a wonderful companion for some lucky family. This bright young lab retriever mix is ready for her fur-ever home. Helios is shy at first but once she warms up to you, she will come to you for love and to be pet. She will even grace you with an occasional kiss!

Someone in the community found male and female stray dogs and kept them in their backyard, but never had them fixed so they had puppies. They never handled the puppies, too, so they were very scared of people. A neighbor let us know about them, but the pups were already about 6 months old and very timid. Helios and her siblings, Argos and Hebe, as well as their dad Kyon, were all rescued by FCAR. Ever since, volunteers have been working on their socialization.

Helios' DOB is 10/18/2020 and she weighs about 45 pounds.

All of our rescues are rehabilitated and once healthy are available for an adoption fee of $95 for cats and dogs. This fee includes:

• Extensive medical health check by a licensed veterinarian
• Up to date on all vaccinations. Puppies/kittens may require some additional booster shots which we will pay for if coordinated through us and our veterinarian
• Spayed/Neutered
• Microchipped
• 30 day pet health guarantee for local adoptions only (*Must follow process provided at time of adoption.)
• 30 day money back guarantee

Our goal is to find loving homes for all our rescued animals. Because we care about our rescues and their future, some animals have certain new family requirements before they can be released to their new home. Requirements for adoption could include the following:

• Fenced yard (required for most dogs) and home inspection for all animals; we will complete an onsite fence/home check prior to completing the adoption if possible. *Fenced yard required. (We do not accept invisible fences.)
• Veterinary reference for previous pet owners (must be/have been current on vaccinations and heartworm prevention)
• If no previous veterinary history, purchase of 3 months of heartworm prevention
• If renting, verification with Landlord on acceptability of pets and any restrictions, pet deposit, etc.
• Meet and greet with current pets to ensure compatibility.

Note: We will call your current/previous veterinarian to verify that you have a history of providing vaccinations and heartworm prevention for your animal(s). We do a physical home/fence inspection prior to completing the adoption if a fence is required, or we may request a home video.

If you are interested in adopting one our dogs or cats, please complete our Online Adoption Application at http://www.fayettefcar.com/ready-to-adopt.
