Meet Helga

Introducing Helga-don't worry, she will not be upset when/if you decide to change her name :) She is a 30 pound, 9 month old pitbull mix. She has the cutest facial expressions and super fun ears. She loves to go for car rides, even though it sometimes upsets her tummy. She gets super excited to go trail running with her foster mom and enjoys walks around the neighborhood. She loves to do zoomies in the backyard.

Helga is fostered with kittens, puppies and adult dogs. Helga attaches herself to her people very quickly. She loves to spend lots of time with them! Because of her love for her people, she has some jealousy issues when it comes to sharing them with other dogs. In order to overcome these jealousy issues and perfect her sharing skills, she needs an owner that will set firm boundaries. With additional training for both her manners and sharing skills, she can learn to share her people with other dogs in the home. Helga is overly interested in the cats in her foster home and would likely do best in a home without cats.

When Helga came into rescue, we learned she is nervous of new people. She needs time to adjust before they’re best friends! She should not be rushed into new situations so she can acclimate and adjust accordingly. Once she is comfortable around you, Helga's entire body will wiggle when she greets you. She is eager to please her person and is intelligent, often learning commands very quickly. Helga has such a fun personality when she gets to know you and trust you. If Helga sounds like the dog for you, apply today! Her adoption fee is $250.

To adopt this pet, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt

All of our dogs come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the dog you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where dogs can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting a dog in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Thanks so much for caring about a needy animal!
