Heily's Story

Meet Heily, a Heeler girl with a gentle heart, a curious nose, and a talent for becoming your shadow.

Heily might start off a little shy when meeting someone new. She just needs a few polite sniffs to gather her information. Once she decides you pass inspection, congratulations. You now have a very loyal best friend who will happily follow you everywhere like a fuzzy little assistant.

She's a smart girl, too. Heily has already mastered the command sit, which she uses frequently when supervising kitchen activities. In fact, she considers herself an excellent sous chef, specializing in sitting patiently at your feet while you cook and offering moral support in case any snacks accidentally fall.

Heily is wonderfully easygoing in the house. She does great in a crate, but she is also perfectly happy hanging out freely. She enjoys playing with other dogs and has a blast during puppy playtime, yet she's just as content entertaining herself with a good chew bone.

When it comes to hobbies, Heily keeps a very full schedule. Her favorite activities include:
• Giving enthusiastic face licks to her favorite humans
• Sleeping like royalty on the outdoor couch
• Watching a cozy fire like a tiny philosopher
• Chewing on bones with impressive dedication

One special thing about Heily is that during her spay surgery in December, the vet discovered she was born with only one kidney. To be extra careful, bloodwork, an ultrasound, and a urinalysis were all done. The results came back great for a puppy, and the vet shared there are no concerns and expects Heily to live a normal, long, happy life.

So really, Heily just comes with one slightly smaller spare part and a whole lot of love.

If you're looking for a sweet, silly companion who will supervise your cooking, warm your feet by the fire, and become your most loyal little sidekick, Heily might be your girl. Just be prepared for kisses. Lots and lots of kisses.

Once we receive your application an adoption counselor will take a look and reach out with any questions. The team will check personal, vet references and check with your landlord if applicable. Your adoption counselor will then set up a time to talk with you and your family (or anyone else involved in the adoption process in your home). This call is a good time to ask any questions you have. Once your application is approved, you will be connected with the foster of the PIP(s) you are interested in. From start to finish, this process can take anywhere from a few days to over a week (so please be patient!). If everything goes well and you and the foster agree that the PIP you want to adopt is a good fit, we will then finalize the adoption.

PIPs key focus is dogs with special or medical needs (who we call Pip-abled), however, we have many non-PIP-abled dogs too!
