Heidi 's Story
Meet Heidi — Our Little Survivor with the Biggest Heart 💛
Heidi’s story began in heartbreak. Her first home tragically burned down, and several of her beloved fur siblings didn’t make it out. When Heidi was rescued, she was just 16 pounds — severely neglected, covered in painful mange, battling a skin infection, and missing most of her fur.
But Heidi didn’t give up.
This brave girl made her journey from Arkansas to Illinois for a second chance at life — and she has embraced it with her whole heart. Today, at about 12 months old and a healthy 31 pounds, her beautiful fur is filling in, her body is healing, and her spirit is shining brighter than ever.
Heidi has that joyful puppy energy that reminds you life is meant to be lived. She loves to romp and play with her dog friends, but when playtime is over, she’s happiest curled up close, soaking in every cuddle she can get. After everything she’s been through, she treasures love in a way that will absolutely melt your heart.
She is crate trained and working hard on her housetraining. Heidi truly aims to please — she watches her people closely, eager to learn and so grateful for kindness. There’s something incredibly special about a dog who knows she’s been given a second chance.
Heidi doesn’t just need a home — she deserves one. A safe place where she will always be warm, always be fed, always be loved. In return, she will give you unwavering loyalty, gentle cuddles, playful joy, and a daily reminder of resilience and hope.
If you’re ready to be the happy ending to Heidi’s story, she’s ready to give you her whole heart. 💕
