Heath's Story

Heath had a traumatic start in life, but you wouldn't know it by his sweet, fun and loving disposition. He is a resilient and loving tripod who doesn't let anything slow him down! Even though he can only go on short walks, he enjoys every step and occasionally even breaks into a run.

He was in rough shape but did great through surgery and ended up losing his leg. He came to CAMO from a shelter in the Rio Grand Valley after being attacked by larger dogs. He is currently recovering from his trauma and isn't very comfortable walking away from his home and safe spaces.

Heath is a sweet and loving soul. He likes to play with other dogs and loves spending time with his people. Almost every evening he gets the zoomies, and you would never know that he only has 3 legs when watching him run. Then like a typical puppy, he sleeps curled up next to you on the couch a few minutes later.

He's a smart boy, too! He sleeps quietly in his play pen. His foster lets him out regularly and he hasn't had any accidents in their house. He's learned to use the doggie door. His foster doesn't know if he fully knows "sit" yet but he sits for treats. He loves treats and food and has no special dietary needs. He also loves toys and playing fetch.

Heath is neutered, up to date on shots, and microchipped. Heath is Heartworm positive, but the rescue will treat him for it.

Adoption fee is: $400

ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract.
