Hazelnut

Hazelnut is her name, getting adopted is her game! This petite pittie princess has been patiently waiting for her forever family to find her since September of 2025, if you can believe it! She has been living in a foster home for most of that time, and while they love her very much they are still hopeful that the right home is out there for her. We think Hazelnut is about 3 years old, still with some goofy puppy energy spurts but a little more settled into her adulthood.<br/> <br/>Hazel has come a long way since she was first brought home. She's a lovely walking companion, needing only occasional correction when there are other dogs or squirrels nearby. She does have a bit of a smaller animal prey drive, and for that reason we ask that she be the only pet in the house. She is crate trained and often happy to spend some time in there each day, which will be helpful as she adjusts to her new home.<br/><br/>Ms. Piggy, Piglet, Hazelpig, these are all nicknames she has earned over the past few months in large part due to her piggy snorts. She loves to meet new people, but sometimes isn't sure of what to do and benefits from a slower introduction. She has learned so much while in foster, but given her past hesitancy with some people we would not recommend she be put into scenarios like a house party or running loose in a park. She has not been at ease around toddlers, so we do not recommend a home with smaller children. <br/><br/>This little peanut (hazelnut?) is doing fine in her foster home, but it's not THE home for her. She is a well behaved, easy going pup 90% of the time, and we think she will only improve with a stable home that reinforces her good behavior.
