Meet HAZEL

So this sweet little lady has a sad story to tell. She will do so in a bit. Here is a little back ground for you. She came to be with us when she was seized and eventually surrendered along with her housemate, Gilly, also available for adoption. Her owner is going on an extended, undetermined amount of time, stay with the state. There had been several time the PSP had been called to this property. Sadly these dogs should have been taken the first time they were there. She is only between the age of 7 to 8 months. The vet guessed she was approx. 3 to 4 years because of her condition. She is thin and broken. She should still gain some more weight. Should not weight more then 35lbs to be a good healthy weight.

My name is Hazel. In my short life I lived in conditions that were not so great. Fleas chewed at us all the time. To the point I was not well because of this. We were not fed well. Gilly, my housemate ate trash the made him sick. At some point in my short life I experienced a very bad trauma. It is believed I was probably run over by a car and I was never taken to a vet for help. I was broken! So now I have a hip, which was damaged and has now healed and a knee that is the same. Both in the rear legs. The vet said they are now fused which means they healed but not the right away. I can still play and walk. I love to play with my foster siblings. I live with cats too! My walk is a bit crooked and I some times limp a bit. My head is also crooked. I will have an eye operation when I am spayed in a couple weekends. (7/24/24) BUT sadly my legs can not be fixed. Some day I may need a doggie cart but for now I am not letting it slow me down much. I take supplements to help regulate pain. I am a brave girl! I can go up and down steps too! So, I want to say I am happy to be here where I am being cared for the way I should be. I am getting healthier and stronger while I wait for my new family for me to love! I am told I am the sweetest of girls and I have every right to not like people but I do like people. I have decided that I will forgive, forget and love! I do, too! There is nothing better then being part of a family and having them love and care for me. I like it so much I give back the love 10 fold. AND that is just with my foster family. Just think how great it will be with my forever family. Who ever you are, I hope we can start our lives together soon! Please visit our website to fill out the adoption application. We will process it and then we can meet. I am waiting!
