Meet Hazel
Hazel is a special girl. She is a tripod, a total love bug, and enjoys lots or rubs and affection. She does need to get to know new people, but once you are accepted, you are pals for life. She gets overwhelmed by stimulus, lots of people, other animals, etc. - so a quiet home would be her ideal.
More about Hazel:
Age: 8-9 years
Weight: About 30lbs
Breed: Pit Mix
Background: Rescued by Wake County Shelter with an injury to front left leg. BARK took her in and provided medical treatment, the amputation of the leg.
Are they good with:
Dogs: Some dogs. It needs to be the right personality.
Cats: No
Children: No
Are they good in a car? Yes
Are they good on leash? Yes
Are they house trained? Yes. She also does well in a crate.
Energy level: High, but slowing down a little and will chill and relax.
Quirks: Nips at hands/fingers. Obsessed with ball. Smart. Talker. Does not like some men.
Tricks I know: Sit, shake, high-five, lay down, & give kisses!
Favorite things: Ball, fetch, kongs, rubs, and sunbathing!
Health issues: 3 legs, but that doesn’t stop her!
Best home environment: Hazel would do best with a single person or a couple with no children. Would be best as an only pet so she can get ALL the love! She would love love love a fenced in back yard where she could sunbathe!
