Hayden's Story
This chocolate-coated cutie is about 2.5 years old and a perfect, sturdy 24 pounds -- the ideal "not too big, not too small" size. Hayden is happy-go-lucky, eager to please, and absolutely bursting with personality. His prized possession? A pink ball that he proudly carries everywhere. He's goofy, playful, and always ready for fun.

Hayden has a playful, silly spirit and just wants to have a good time. Found as a stray, he likely missed out on some early socialization, so he still has a few puppy tendencies. He can be a little mouthy during play, and we're working through a bit of marking (belly bands are super helpful!). He may also try to hump when he gets overstimulated -- but with structure and consistency, he continues to improve.

Because Hayden can be protective of items in his mouth, he doesn't love things being taken away from him. The good news? He responds wonderfully to a simple trade -- offer him a tasty treat, and he'll happily make the exchange! For this reason, he would do best in a home without young children. While he may enjoy their energy, he needs an environment where his space and boundaries are respected.

Now for some of the best parts -- Hayden is AMAZING in the car and is an absolute rockstar at the vet. He genuinely loves going to the vet and soaks up the attention. Car rides? No problem. Vet visits? Bring it on. He handles both like a champ.

Hayden is crate trained, and his crate is truly his safe place. He settles in well and feels secure there. He may sing a little lonely song when you leave, so shared walls aren't ideal, but he eventually tucks himself in for a snooze.

Hayden is heartworm positive, but please don't let that scare you! Heartworm treatment is fully covered through CSRA. It simply requires keeping his activity level low for a short period -- and since he already loves his crate, crate rest will be very manageable for him. It sounds much scarier than it actually is!

Hayden is ready to find his forever family so he can start treatment surrounded by love and stability. He's goofy, loyal, playful, and full of potential -- and this lil baked potato is going to absolutely thrive in the right home.
