Harvest's Story

Introducing Harvest

This beautiful pup was found as a stray in rural Manitoba by the Manitoba Animal Alliance rescue team. She was just a wee pup and would not have survived all on her own.

Harvest is approximately 16 weeks old (DOB: 07/01/2025) and weighs 11.4 kg (25 pounds). She is a charming shepherd mix with the most adorable perky ears.

Harvest is making steady gains in her foster home. She is an active and happy puppy who loves to play and engage with her foster family. She is a typical pup full of endless puppy energy and curiosity.

Harvest’s adopters must be prepared to continue with her training and keep her busy with lots of daily exercise and socialization. She is a very smart pup and responds well to praise and treats. She is good travelling in the car. She sleeps in her crate at night. Harvest shares her foster home with other dogs and cats. She is getting along well with all and we feel she would likely be fine sharing her home with another friendly, active dog. A meet and greet would be necessary.

Puppies love to chew and Harvest is no exception. Her adopters must be prepared with safe chew toys to help redirect her and keep her busy. (She has the typical puppy shark teeth!)

When she first arrived to her foster home she showed some resource guarding with her food. Her foster family is not seeing this behaviour any longer. They have been teaching her to take her treats gently and reinforce good behaviours.

Harvest is not left alone during the day. Puppies require ongoing care and Harvest is not old enough to be left alone for long hours during the day. She is let out often during the day to reinforce her housetraining. She still has occasional accidents which is normal for a puppy and she sometimes goes out in the middle of the night.

Harvest is a shepherd mix and will be a large, active dog when fully grown. Harvest really enjoys playing outdoors and going for walks. An adopter with a house and fully fenced yard is recommended so Harvest can have outdoor time in between her walks. She will require a lot of exercise and outdoor playtime to help keep her happy and healthy.

Harvest has been dewormed and has her first two sets of vaccinations.

***This bio may change as we learn more about Harvest.

Please see our website (info@adoptadogsavealife.com) for information about our rescue and adoptions. Our adoption process includes an online application, a telephone interview, a home visit (virtual or in person), reference checks and a meeting with the dog.

Our contract for puppies is a "foster to adopt" contract. The adopters will be responsible for her spay and once that has been done a permanent adoption contract will be signed.

An adoption fee of $500.00 applies. We will also charge a $200.00 spay deposit that will be returned once Harvest has been spayed.

Harvest in in a foster home in Newcastle Ontario.
