Meet Harper Lee

Please read Harper Lee's entire profile, which includes a link to the adoption application. Thank you!**

Hello, Amazing Harper Lee, a two year old, 50-pound Bull Terrier mix young lady.

Honestly, we don't know where to start with this beautiful, fun-loving life gal! She is the spunkiest gal in her foster home! And how she has been waiting SIX MONTHS on our website to find her forever family we have no idea. She is such a gem!!

Harper came into foster care a small, frail and emaciated puppy; her legs were terribly deformed. We had hoped that it was just rickets and proper nutrition could fix her legs. Sadly, the rickets had already done permanent damage to her bones. She did wear a brace for a while on the worse shaped leg and it helped straighten it out some. On that leg she was initially walking on the ankle with the foot turned back

Through all this she has always been happy and full of energy! She loves to have all the attention and will gladly push her way through a crowd to be the center of everyone's attention! IHer foster mother admit that she has spoiled her rotten!! She is a huge cuddler and will lay across her person’s body at night.

She has no idea that she is different, and she can out run most of the dogs she plays with! Harper loves everything about the world, rain, dirt, mud, toys, sunshine!

She is a strong chewer and will need to have tough toys and needs to be supervised when she’s playing with her toys. She can play a little rough with small pups because she just doesn't realize how much strength she has in such a small frame!

Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT.

If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
