Harper's Story
Hi, my name is Harper! I’m ready for my forever home! After being boarded for a time, I’m enjoying love in my foster home in southern Ohio! I’m being so good with my foster mom that she is having trouble not adopting me herself! My family taught me to be very well behaved and I’m super smart and willing to please. Before, I lived with kids and dogs-my foster mom can tell you more about that. I am completely housebroken, will let you know when I have to go out, and I’m very good at having my feet wiped when I come back in. I am GREAT on a leash and love my leash walks. Although very calm, I will bark when I hear someone at the door, but I’ve been greeting people with ease after they come in and say hello. I’m crate trained, and after just a week, could be trusted to be loose in the house.

I was born into LWR in a foster home-my four-legged mom was a Weimaraner named Tulip, and dad was a Beagle mix. I was adopted as a puppy then returned after 5 years because I could not deal with the cats around my home. I look like a Beagle and act like a Weim, weighing in at 38 pounds. My long tail wags all day, and I sport a soft, short fur coat like a Weim. Bonus, I have a cute little snore,😴!
I love to play and run around the yard. My favorite things, though, are snuggles and belly rubs. I fit right on your lap or next to you in bed. Like a Weim, I follow my foster mom everywhere in the house. If she moves, I move. I behave very well on walks, not pulling like some of those Weims. Oh, and car rides-I LOVE LOVE LOVE the car rides.

I will be fine as an only dog but can be managed if you have another pup in your home. I lived my whole life in a home with other dogs, but I didn’t want to share things and would fuss over toys. I’ve started a training class with other dogs so I can feel more comfortable and trusting with them. I’m up-to-date on vaccines, on monthly heartworm preventative, and microchipped but that’s just the technical stuff. I am ready to get a family of my own that I can love for the rest of my life!
⭐️Harper is a wonderful companion dog-a sweet, loving, well-behaved dog in a small package. She will love you as you love her! When you’re ready for her, complete the adoption application at https://www.louisvilleweimrescue.com
