Harper's Story

***NOTE: This pet is currently at the shelter in Republic, WA, and can be delivered to an approved adopter on our 1/17/26 adopted pet transport to North Bend, WA to begin a 30-day trial placement – part of our distance adoption program.***

Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application

Please do not call the shelter; do the application first.

Harper is a beautiful young pup who came to us in need of a loving home. She’s housetrained, weighs about 60 pounds, and has shown herself to be a deeply gentle and calm companion unless she is playing, then she has tons of energy!

Harper adores people once she gets to know them. She’s wonderfully good with people and other dogs, and she’s done well on her cat test—either showing little interest in cats or even seeming a bit scared of them—so she can live with felines with slow, proper introductions (as she’s still a puppy learning the world).

Though she’s calm and gentle at heart, Harper can be shy and a little nervous around new people and pets at first. She’ll need a patient, understanding family who will give her time to warm up and build her confidence. Once she trusts you, she’ll blossom into the sweetest, most devoted friend.

What Harper wants most is simple: a quiet, loving home where she can take things at her own pace, gentle humans to earn her trust, and the chance to be someone’s soft-hearted, loyal companion.

If you’re looking for a sweet, calm, gentle young dog who will fill your home with quiet affection once she feels safe, Harper may be your perfect match.

All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Harper is a suggested minimum of $150 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts.

Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
