Harper's Story

Harper is a gentle soul who is looking for a place to call his own. He is an independent boy with a strong sense of self, but that doesn't mean he won't be the most loyal companion you'll ever find. Harper marches to the beat of his own drum. While he enjoys his independence, he also craves companionship and will be a devoted friend to those he trusts. He would do best in a home with no children. Harper is sure to be a wonderful addition to a loving home. He may be unsure about other dogs, but with time and patience, he could learn to make new furry friends. Give Harper a chance, and he will show you the true meaning of unconditional love.

Rock Island County Animal Care and Control's Adoption Policy
We recommend that you research breed characteristics, visit our shelter, then select and spend time with the animals. Once you have determined that a pet is a good match for your family, you will need to complete the adoption application and pay the adoption fee. Once this done, you and your new family member can head home! Be willing to spend at least an hour and perhaps two from the time you arrive until you leave. After looking through our adoption wards, notify the front desk if there is a specific animal you are interested in. If you are interested in one of the adoptable dogs or puppies, a kennel attendant will get the dog out for you to meet. We encourage you to spend some time getting acquainted with the animal you are interested in so that you can get to know it before making your decision. After completing the adoption and registration information, you and your new best friend are on your way!
