Harlow – Pit Bull mix – 5 ½ yrs – female (69lbs)<br/> <br/>Meet Harlow! This beauty was actually born into SHR and adopted out as an eight-week old puppy. Until recently, she has lived in a loving home her entire life. Sadly, the young child in her home developed severe allergies and now cannot live in the same home with her. There are very few “real” reasons to give up your dog, but this is actually one of them. The family is completely heartbroken over having to surrender their beloved Harlow. The silver lining in all of this is that we know everything about Harlow and will be able to use that info to find her another loving home. <br/><br/>Harlow is such a good girl! She’s gentle and polite and does wonderfully at the vet, with children, and in the home. She is fully housebroken, crate trained, and not destructive; she’s an easy companion! Harlow loves to snuggle on the couch or curl up in bed with you (if invited!), but she’s not lazy either. Long walks are the key to her heart—she loves exploring the world by your side. While she may wear a serious expression at times, once you get to know her, you’ll see just how silly and affectionate she truly is. When she’s especially happy, she’ll break into the cutest zoomies and she’s known for giving big, enthusiastic kisses. She enjoys a good game of tug-of-war with her favorite person and thrives on connection and companionship. <br/><br/>Harlow is smart and a little stubborn, so she would do best with a confident owner who can provide clear boundaries and consistent training. She does pull on the leash some, but responds well to guidance, and with continued training, this will absolutely improve. Harlow hasn’t had very much exposure to other dogs in her previous home, but since she’s been with us, we have been able to find a few buddies that she does well with. We don’t think she “needs” to be an only dog (although she’s used to that), but she will need the right fit and a slow introduction to any future canine siblings.
