HARLEY's Story

Harley (A566299) arrived to us as a stray, a little unsure of the world around her. She is a submissive, shy girl at first, the kind who hangs back and takes a moment to figure things out. Give her just a little time and you will see what she has been holding onto; a deep love for people and a constant need for affection. Once she feels safe, Harley is all about gentle pets and staying close to her person. She truly craves that connection and will happily soak up every bit of attention you are willing to give. She already knows “sit” and is very treat motivated, which makes her a great candidate for continued training. With a little patience and encouragement, she is going to blossom into an incredible companion. Harley has done well with another female dog and shows a very gentle play style. She would likely do well with a male dog too, but she may be best suited for a home with a calmer companion. She is not one to cause chaos and could easily be overwhelmed by more rambunctious personalities. She will stand up for herself when needed, but she would much rather just enjoy a peaceful environment. At her core, Harley is soft, loving, and incredibly loyal. She is the kind of dog who bonds deeply and gives her whole heart. Now she just needs someone willing to give that same love back. If you are looking for a gentle soul to grow with, Harley is waiting for you. Harley is guesstimated to be 5 years old and weighs 52 lbs, she will likely be a large breed adult weighing between 40-60 pounds as an adult. All dogs adopted from Huntsville Animal Services are spayed/ neutered, microchipped, dewormed, appropriately vaccinated, and receive a topical 90-day flea/ tick preventative. Ready to meet Harley? All you have to do is stop by our shelter at 4950 Triana Blvd and head to our dog areas. You can find her in kennel D34. All adopters must be 19 years or older with a valid ID
