Harley's Story
A veterinary clinic that specializes (unfortunately) in breeding females has a veterinarian on staff who knows Our Pal's Place. This veterinarian contacted us about Harley who was in immediate need of help.

Harley had been brought in to the veterinary clinic for help in getting her pregnant. When the veterinary clinic was unsuccessful, Harley's person abandoned her. Harley was adored by the veterinarians and staff so she became their office dog. Eventually the veterinary clinic was bought by a corporate entity that set a date for Harley to be gone or euthanized. Harley had been a surrogate mom to puppies, helped with blood transfusions and been a part of the clinic for years. Everyone was heartbroken and determined to find her a safe place. Many tried to take Harley home but she either did not like their cats or husbands. Our Pal's Place was her last chance as the deadline was upon them. Although this is not the typical scenario of how dogs come into our Pet Adoption Facility, the veterinarian is a long-time friend of Our Pal's Place and helped us with numerous critical care situations. We were not going to walk away from our friend or Harley.

Harley's favorite people brought her to us and helped her settle in the new environment and learn to trust us. It took months of working with Harley but now she is the most loving girl! Her favorite activity is going for trail walks!

Harley is a special girl and needs a person who will be as loyal of a companion to her as she will be to them.
