HAPPY's Story
Meet Happy!

Happy’s name says it all. This 3–4-(?) year-old German Shepherd is full of life, heart, and potential—and he’s so ready for a fresh start.

Happy found himself on the euthanasia list in Yucca Valley and has been in the shelter since April of last year. He’s currently enjoying a much-needed break in a foster home, where he’s been doing wonderfully adjusting to home life and showing everyone just how special he is.

Happy loves long walks, staying active, and playing with his stuffed animal toys. He is excellent in a crate, settles well, and has had no potty accidents in the house. He’s been working hard on his training and is learning obedience skills like sit, down, recall, and place, along with some fun extras like shake and drop it. He’s also building confidence and structure through work on doorway manners and his heel command.

Like many shepherds, Happy can show some mild reactivity around other dogs, but with clear structure and guidance, he continues to improve. He is a very sweet, affectionate dog who truly wants to do well and connect with his people.

Happy would do best in a home that enjoys staying active and continuing his training—most of the hard work is already done. With consistency and love, he will easily settle into a home routine and become an incredibly loyal companion.

If you’re looking for a smart, loving dog who’s ready to move forward and leave the shelter life behind, Happy may be your perfect match.

Click below and see how "Happy" he was being pulled from the euth list at a high risk shelter.!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FSaLcwp4Hs
