HAPPY's Story
HAPPY WILL STEAL YOUR HEART…AND YOUR SOCKS!

Meet Happy, a 1-year-old Cockapoo whose expressive eyes tell you everything you need to know. She doesn’t need words to communicate; one look from her and you’ll instantly understand whether she’s asking for playtime, cuddles… or maybe to return that sock or dish towel she just “borrowed” (read: can resource guard her loot!).

Smart, affectionate and brimming with charm, Happy is the kind of dog who will steal your heart (and occasionally a bar of soap!). She’s still young and learning, but this clever girl picks things up in no time, especially when treats are involved.
Happy loves to play, and especially loves fetch. She would thrive in a home that can offer her about an hour of activity a day to keep her balanced and content.

She does best with medium to larger dogs and has been working on sharing her toys and space. She’s made great progress, though she’s still learning the ropes around smaller dogs.

At home, Happy is a sweet, affectionate companion. She adores curling up on the sofa for a cuddle session before heading to her own bed at night. She’s house-trained (though a bit of encouragement helps on rainy days!) and she knows her basic commands. She walks nicely on leash but can be a little startled by loud noises. Patience and gentle reassurance will help to go a long way.

She’s a healthy girl, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccinations. She weighs about 27 lbs. Because of her playful, sometimes mischievous nature, she’s best suited to a home without small children (12 plus). No history with cats. A large or medium dog in the home could work. She will need continued work on her resource guarding.

To apply for HAPPY, visit gerdysrescue.org/adoption-form

NO DIRECT MESSAGE INQUIRIES PLEASE
Please note we only adopt to Montreal and nearby surrounding areas.
