Happy's Story
Meet Happy – 1 year Old Deaf Pocket Pittie with the Best Smile!

True to her name, Happy radiates joy wherever she goes. Every morning she greets her people with the most adorable “happy dance” and shows off her signature smile, complete with a charming little underbite.

She’s wonderful with people and would thrive in a home with older children (10+) who can understand her needs. Since she’s deaf, her foster family wakes her gently using scents—American cheese is her favorite alarm clock! Happy would do best as an only pet since she has trouble reading other dog’s body language without being able to hear them.

On leash, Happy surprises everyone—she’s the slowest walker you’ll ever meet. At just 1 yr old, she shuffles along like a sweet senior pup with arthritis. She never pulls, though sometimes she decides she’s just not moving. Happy will let you know when she needs or wants to go outside. When she does, she does what she loves, which is soaking up the sunshine, sniffing all over the yard, and spending hours relaxing outdoors. Don’t worry, she will let you know when she is ready to come inside too!

Happy is a smart girl who has already learned “sit,” “come,” “no,” “lay,” “spin,” and “touch.” Crate training and learning that you will come back has been a challenge, but she’s made huge progress. Now, she sleeps through the night peacefully and settles quickly during the day.

Happy is her happiest when she is with her humans, whether it on your lap lounging on the couch or sitting on the bath mat while you get ready in the morning. At just 36# she is still small enough to be a great lap dog! She would love an owner who is home to spend time with her at home or taking her with. She is great in the car and well behaved in new environments, as long as she isn’t crowded by other dogs. Big dogs intimidate this sweet girl.

She’s also a total comedian. From her hilarious piggy grunts and owl-like screeches to her antics with vegetables—watching her toss broccoli, green beans, or her giant stuffed lamb chop toy around the room is guaranteed entertainment—Happy will keep you smiling every day.

Happy is ready to find her forever family: one that will appreciate her quirks, celebrate her progress, and give her the love and patience every puppy deserves.

Apply today to meet Happy—you won’t stop smiling either!

The adoption fee of $200 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed!
