Meet HAPPY

SEE HIS VIDEO!

Happy is a coonhound/beagle mix that just turned 8 years old and weights 45 pounds. Happy is completely house trained and is a perfect gentleman when he's left by himself, so can be left out when you are gone and does not need to be crated!Happy has a very calm personality and just likes to lay on the couch next to you and go on long walks when it is nice outside, but gets cold quickly in the winter. Happy is such a sweet dog and has been known to melt hearts when he looks into your eyes! He is a fairly independent dog, so he does not like to be hugged or babied, but he likes to lay next to you at night! Happy knows sit and we are working on shake which he has made a lot of progress on already!
He is good with other dogs, but wants to be an only dog because he gets bossy and cranky when he lives with them. He is not good with cats and I would love for him to go to a kid-free home due to his personality.
Happy eats grain free food and does unfortunately have a thyroid issue that requires him to be on thyroxine (really cheap) for the rest of his life and he has to have a weekly bath once a week with a special coat shampoo because he used to have a skin infection.
Happy is an extremely easy dog to take care of and would do great with beginners, loves all people, and makes everyone he meets feel loved!

Last Hope, Inc. is an all volunteer, foster based, no kill rescue!
You can see most of our dogs on Saturdays from 11-3 at the following locations: Apple Valley Petco on 42 & Cedar - every Saturday
and at most Saturdays at the Burnsville Petco at the same time!

Policies: You do not have to have a fence to adopt a dog from us, but some dogs will require a fence or acres to play. Also, Since preschoolers are more likely to be bit, we do not place dogs in homes where children under the age of 4 are present. The Adoption Fee is not enough to cover the vet bills. Sales tax of almost 7% is also included in the adoption fee that you see. Please consider donating to Last Hope to help us save these animals! Can you foster? By taking a dog or puppies into your home temporarily and then coming to our adoption days to help find them homes, we can save more! If interested, please email jsamaste@msn.com and tell us your phone number and what you would like to foster and someone will get back to you! Check our webpage and click the picture of the border collie on the side to learn more about fostering too! "
