Meet Happy... who isn't always so happy.<br/><br/>To know Happy is to love him, and we absolutely do. Happy is a little Chihuahua mix with a big personality. He's independent, a little standoffish, and perfectly content with the simple things in life: a comfortable bed, a good meal, and a place where nobody expects him to be something he isn't.<br/><br/>Sometimes Happy will let you pet him. Sometimes he'll give you a growl to remind you that he has boundaries. We respect that. Out of the 28 dogs he currently lives with, there's really only one he truly dislikes, Mouse. We figure 27 out of 28 isn't too shabby!<br/><br/>Happy has a significant Grade IV-V/VI heart murmur. Our veterinarian recommended against putting him under anesthesia for a dental or neuter, so those procedures will not be done. <br/><br/>Happy is what we lovingly call an "as is" dog. We aren't trying to change him or make him perfect. We accept him exactly as he is, and we're looking for someone who can do the same.<br/><br/>He doesn't need someone expecting a cuddly little lap dog. He needs someone who appreciates an independent senior companion who enjoys sharing your home, having his own space, and occasionally deciding that yes, today you may pet him.<br/><br/>Happy may not always be happy, but he is very loved. Now he just needs someone willing to love him exactly as he is.
