Hannah (Foster-to-Adopt)'s Story

Hannah is available for Foster to Adopt!

We'd love to welcome Hannah into the Fetch + Releash family on March 14th. In order to secure a spot on the flight, she needs a committed foster-to-adopt family. As a foster-to-adopt family, you’ll be expected to take her home that same day. You will then have two weeks to get to know your new furry house guest before committing to adoption. At the end of two weeks, if you choose not to move forward with adoption, we simply ask that you continue to provide a safe and loving home until their new forever family can be found.

Each bio was created by our rescue partners based on their interactions with the dogs. Fetch + Releash has a full disclosure policy however we cannot guarantee a dog against parasites or diseases, nor can we guarantee a dog’s nature/behaviour. Many of these dogs are coming directly from the shelter and so you should expect there to be a transitional period. Be prepared to deal with common issues like potty training, leash walking, and socialization. Cat and kid safety assessments are often based on their personality and not necessarily on actual interactions.

Where possible, the majority of vetting will be completed prior to coming to Canada, however, foster-to-adopt families may be required to travel to our partner vet Mississauga, ON for further vet care.

During your foster-to-adopt trial, you’ll receive the support of a Fetch + Releash mentor to help you through the transition and answer any questions or concerns you may have.

Foster-to-adopt families will be required to pay a $200 deposit on the adoption fee and sign our foster-to-adopt waiver in advance. If you choose not to adopt, your $200 will be refunded to you within 30 days of your dog being adopted into a new family provided you see your pup through to adoption. If you choose not to see your dog through to adoption, you will forfeit your deposit.

Foster-to-adopt families will be expected to provide their own supplies. Visit https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info for more info on mandatory supplies.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hannah / Female / 11 months old / 35 lbs / Terrier Mix / From Mexico
Hannah is a bold, playful, and incredibly smart young dog who is ready to take on the world, ideally from the comfort of her own forever home. At just 11 months old, she’s full of personality and confidence.
Hannah was rescued from the same severely overcrowded home as several other dogs, where resources were limited and proper care was difficult to provide. Despite her start, she is thriving. She is social, resilient, and carries herself with a natural sense of confidence.
Very playful and highly intelligent, Hannah loves to stay busy. She’s fearless in new situations and approaches life with curiosity and enthusiasm. She is also a water-loving dog and would likely enjoy outdoor adventures that include swimming or splash time. True to her personality, she tends to “own” whatever space she’s in and has a slightly judgy expression that only adds to her charm.
Hannah tested positive for Ehrlichia, a tick-borne disease. The infection is currently dormant, and many dogs live their entire lives without complications. As a precaution, it is recommended that she receive an annual 4DX blood test and a CBC/platelet count prior to any major surgery or dental procedures.
Hannah does very well with other dogs and enjoys canine companionship. She has not yet been tested with cats and is looking for a cat-free home at this time. With her intelligence and strong personality, she will benefit from continued structure, enrichment, and positive training to help her channel her energy productively.
If you’re interested in fostering with the intention of adopting, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form
Hannah’s adoption fee is $850.
