Hannah's Story

Hannah, four years old, about 13 pounds, crate, trained, house trained, walks on a leash. She is very sweet and submissive with her person, but takes a day or two to warm up.

Hannah is good with other dogs.... most of the time. Occasionally, she gets super excited and will snap at another dog and that could cause a fight. She did live in a home with another dog and occasionally they would have a little Spat. No injuries were incurred. The easiest thing would be to find her a home where she gets 100% of the attention and then there are no concerns.

She will be good with strangers once she has bonded with her person. As long as she feels safe, she is good. She is a schnauzer mix. Her hair grows to one length and stops. She doesn’t seem to shed but we are no going to guarantee that. With her being a mix her hair isn’t super silkie like a Schnauzer.

Hannah is vaccinated, spayed, tested negative for heartworms and will be microchipped.

This is a courtesy listing for one of our partners. All applications will be directed to their caregiver. Transport will be facilitated by us.
Adoption fee is $400 and the transport fee is $175.

Shelby is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, on monthly flea/heartworm prevention, she tested negative for heartworms and she will be microchipped.

_______________________________
Considering adoption?

Start by filling out our online application (copy and paste the following link)
https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DIX/Dog

Once submitted, we’ll review it and reach out to approved applicants by phone or email.

A Petfinder Inquiry is not the same as an application -

COMPLETED APPLICATIONS TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER INQUIRIES. If you are interested in adopting, the FIRST step is to complete an application.

If your application was successfully submitted you will get a generated confirmation email.

DO NOT SUBMIT AN APPLICATION IF YOU ARE NOT CURRENTLY READY TO ADOPT.

All of our animals are rescued and transported from South Mississippi where major animal overpopulation means less homes. We only transport them once adopted, in most instances, we can be available for a video call once an application has been approved.

WE PERSONALLY TRANSPORT OUR OWN adopted animals to meet their new families. We transport every 2-3 weeks.
We facilitate adoptions through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. We travel to VA, MD, PA, NJ, CT, VT, and NY. Our dogs travel in comfort with 24/7 care. We have been facilitating long distance adoptions since 2019.

***Breed input is required for each platform but is not guaranteed to be accurate. We do not DNA test. We rescue animals from different situations. We discuss breed assignments with our vets to label them as accurately as possible. ***

We are currently unable to adopt pets to ME and RI residents

Our Adoption Process: Our goal is to match the right pet with the right adopter. 1. Once we receive the completed application, we will call your vet references, personal reference, and landlord (if applicable). 2. Once you get an approval, we will set up a time for a phone call and typically can offer a video call with the potential animal. 3. All adoptions will be finalized and fees collected prior to the transport of your new family member. Adoption fees will not be refunded if you simply change your mind. We only hold an animal for adoption once a deposit has been paid or the full adoption fee has been paid. 4. We will coordinate with you to transport your new pet to one of our many transport destinations if you are not a local adopter. **We reserve the right to refuse an adoption**
