Hannah is a stunning black German Shepherd, through and through!<br/><br/>But Hannah is so much more than a black beauty.<br/><br/>Hannah is a tried-and-true SHEPHERD! <br/><br/>She is loyal. She is protective. She loves her people FIERCELY. And she takes her job of watching over her home and her people very seriously.<br/><br/>That’s our Hannah girl! <br/><br/>Now, here’s where we need everyone to really listen.<br/><br/>Hannah is going to need a very special home. Not because she’s a bad dog. Quite the opposite! But because she needs someone who truly understands the German Shepherd breed, their instincts, their loyalty, and their need for structure, guidance, and consistency.<br/><br/>Hannah needs a confident, experienced Shepherd owner who understands that protecting her people doesn’t mean she gets to make all the decisions.<br/><br/>She needs to learn that not everyone who comes into her home is a threat. That visitors can be welcomed. That her people will handle situations and she doesn’t have to take that responsibility upon herself.<br/><br/>And YES, Hannah CAN learn these things! <br/><br/>But it will take patience, continued training, clear boundaries, and someone committed to helping her succeed. We want Hannah to look to her person for guidance and trust that they have things under control.<br/><br/>Let’s talk about a few other things we’ve learned about our girl!<br/><br/> Treats? Well, you’ve heard us talk about those Vienna sausages! Hannah certainly enjoys them, but she’s not always super food motivated.<br/><br/> Praise? OH YES! This girl absolutely LOVES being told she’s a good girl! Positive reinforcement, encouragement, and knowing she’s made her person happy mean so much to her.<br/><br/> Crating? Not her favorite thing when her people leave. But she does well being confined to a room instead.<br/><br/> Her people? She LOVES them. She wants to be with them. She bonds deeply, and when you’re one of Hannah’s people, you are HER person. <br/><br/>And can we talk about TODAY?!<br/><br/>We had SO MUCH FUN with Hannah! <br/><br/>She got to meet several different people today. Were there a few she was unsure about? Absolutely! And that’s okay. We respected that, gave her time, and allowed her to work through those moments.<br/><br/>And you know what?!<br/><br/>She warmed up to everyone! <br/><br/>Those are the moments that make us smile. Those are the moments that remind us just how much potential this beautiful girl has with the right guidance.<br/><br/>We have always promised to be honest about our dogs. The good, the challenges, the quirks, and everything in between.<br/><br/>We aren’t going to tell you Hannah is the perfect dog for everyone. She’s not. She needs an experienced home willing to continue her training, understand her protective tendencies, and help her learn appropriate boundaries.<br/><br/>But we absolutely believe Hannah is going to be someone’s AMAZING dog!<br/><br/>We want to set her future family up for success, and more importantly, we want to set HANNAH up for success!<br/><br/>She deserves that. She deserves someone who understands her, respects her, teaches her, and loves her for the incredible Shepherd she is.<br/><br/>Somewhere out there is Hannah’s person. Someone who is going to look at this beautiful black Shepherd and say, “That’s my girl. I understand her. I’ve got her.” <br/><br/>And Hannah? She’s going to love that person with everything she’s got.<br/><br/> Experienced German Shepherd home preferred. Share.<br/><br/><br/><br/>7/2026<br/><br/>Hannah — A Smart, Loyal Shepherd Looking for Her Forever Person <br/><br/>Hannah is a very special girl who has so much love and potential to give. She can be incredibly chill and relaxed, but she also gets those adorable bursts of puppy energy — and honestly, who can blame her? Hannah has never had the chance to truly just be a puppy. She has never lived in a full-time home where she could run, play, and get all that young-dog energy out. She didnt have a fenced yard, so shes still learning what its like to simply enjoy being a dog.<br/><br/>One thing is for sure — Hannah is smart! She is extremely trainable and eager to learn. Her foster was able to teach her paw quickly with no formal training. She loves praise even more than treats (although Vienna sausages are definitely a favorite ). She thrives with routine, structure, consistency, and a person willing to continue helping her learn and grow.<br/><br/>Like many young shepherds who have experienced inconsistency, Hannah does have some things she needs help working through. She can have anxiety and may feel unsure in new situations. She has displayed resource guarding and can become uncomfortable when things get overly exciting or high-energy. She does a good job communicating when she is uncomfortable, and her future family will need to understand and respect those signals.<br/><br/>Hannah will need thoughtful, slow introductions when it comes to other animals. She spent time with her fosters two dogs and, after about two months, was doing well with them. However, because of her background, she lacks confidence and will need continued guidance and careful introductions. Hannah may do best as the only pet or with an experienced owner who understands how to help her successfully integrate with other animals.<br/><br/>The beautiful thing about Hannah is that underneath those moments of uncertainty is a dog who wants to trust, wants to bond, and wants to please. She is not destructive, she is not overly hyper, and she truly enjoys companionship. She just needs someone willing to show her that the world can be safe and predictable.<br/><br/>Her foster loves Hannah deeply. Hannah deserves a family who will see beyond her past, give her patience and structure, continue positive reinforcement training, and celebrate every bit of progress along the way.<br/><br/>With the right person, Hannah has every opportunity to become the incredibly loyal, loving, and amazing companion we know she can be. <br/><br/>Hannah isnt looking for a perfect home — shes looking for a committed one.
