Hannah's Story

Meet Hannah!

This beautiful, smiley girl has been waiting far too long to find her forever home and would love nothing more than a family to call her own. Hannah is approximately 6–6½ months old and currently weighs around 45 pounds. We do not expect her to grow much more and anticipate she will likely remain under 60 pounds when fully grown. While we cannot confirm her breed without a DNA test, she appears to be a Pit Bull–type mix. Please don’t let outdated stereotypes stand in her way — bully breeds are incredibly loyal, affectionate, and people-oriented, and Hannah embodies all of those wonderful traits.

Hannah was found as a stray roaming the streets of Texas and has been growing up in a shelter environment since early January. While we don’t know much about her past, we do know she deserves far more than a kennel. She is at such an important age where stability, guidance, and love will shape the dog she becomes, and she is ready for that opportunity.

Like most young dogs, Hannah is still learning the ropes. She is working on house training, leash manners, and polite greetings, and her future family should be prepared for normal puppy energy and the consistency that comes with raising an adolescent dog. With structure, patience, and continued training, she will mature into a devoted, well-balanced companion.

She has done very well with other dogs and would likely thrive with a canine friend who enjoys playtime. She has not been tested with cats, so a home without cats may be best unless adopters are experienced with slow introductions. Hannah has had limited exposure to children in the shelter, so we recommend a home with respectful, dog-savvy kids who understand boundaries and appropriate interactions.

Hannah would do best with a family that can provide both physical exercise and mental enrichment. A fenced yard would be ideal for her to safely burn off energy, though an apartment or condo could be considered if her exercise and stimulation needs are consistently met. She is a bright, loving girl who simply needs someone willing to invest in her.

The shelter Hannah is currently in is severely overcrowded, and without a committed adopter, dogs like her face uncertain futures. She is ready for someone to see her potential and give her the safe, loving home she has been waiting for.

Health:
Hannah is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and on monthly preventatives. She is still too young for heartworm testing but is otherwise healthy and ready to begin her new life.

Important Information:
All of our dogs, including Hannah, are currently located in Texas and will be transported to adopters once adoption is finalized. Transportation is included in the adoption fee. Please note that adopters will not be able to meet her in person prior to committing, as transport occurs after finalization.

MA License #479
