Hank's Story

Meet Hank, a jumbo sized chocolate delight with legs for days and a heart just as big. At 7 months old, this handsome fella already looks like someone mixed together fudge brownies, chocolate pudding, and a caramel latte...basically, hes a walking dessert tray.

Hank can get a little anxious in the shelter environment, but the second you clip on a leash and head out, he transforms into an absolute gentleman. He listens well, already knows sit and lay down, and would gladly earn a PhD in obedience if snacks are involved. Treats are his love language.

One of Hanks best features? That one floppy ear that sticks up when it wants, like a satellite antenna. Its permanently tuned in for compliments, treat bags opening, and anyone saying who's a good boy? (Spoiler, its Hank.)

Now, lets discuss transportation. Hank is NOT currently accepting applications for road trip buddy. In fact, this boy believes car rides should include excessive drool, dramatic nausea, and possibly redecorating your back seat with puke. No road snacks for this guy. With patience and training, he may improve, but for now, local adventures only.

And remember, Hank is still very much a puppy trapped in a large dog body. Think 6 year old child after three juice boxes energy. Hell need continued training, structure, and lots of playtime to help him grow into the amazing dog he's already showing signs of becoming.

Sweet, goofy, oversized, and searching for love, Hank is ready to find his people!!

Please stop in and say hello to this lovable chocolate chunk! Help us find his forever home by sharing his story! Thanks everyone

Good with dogs: selective
Good with cats: No
Good with kids: yes

Peace River SPCA's Adoption Policy
We require an adoption application to be filled out for every animal before they can be adopted! If there is a specific animal you are interested in adding to your family please call us at 1-780-624-3633 and we would be happy to answer any questions! We offer trials as well! A trial is where you can take the furry friend you have been approved for home for up to 2 weeks to make sure that everything is a good fit before fully adopting them! A lot of our animals have come to us as strays so we don't have background information about many of the animals we have here with us, so we always encourage doing a trial before fully adopting just to make sure everyone can adjust to each other as it can be very stressful for some of them to leave the shelter and go to a new environment!
