Hank

Introducing our handsome boy, HANK! Hank has gone through an amazing transformation since coming to ARF, after being found as a stray thin and with terrible skin, but our dedicated volunteers have spent time helping him get back on his feet again after having a rough start! Since coming to our rescue, He’s gained a healthy amount of weight and along with his beautiful grey eyes, he has revealed a shiny matching steel colored coat after battling painful skin allergies. Hank has been getting a bath every other day which he absolutely loves! He has been excelling in his obedience training which includes learning to be the perfect gentleman when taking treats and not jumping on<br/>people or furniture. He knows how to sit, lay down, and wait at the door on command. We are also teaching him to walk nicely on the leash and to "stay", which is a little hard for him because he wants to always be next to you, but he’s learning quickly! Hank has also been on a hike which he loved, and he would love to join you on all of your outdoor adventures! Hank loves to run around in the yard with his favorite toy to burn off his energy, but he would prefer to be near his people. He keeps a keen eye on his favorite shelter volunteer and wants to be where she is! He's definitely a "people person"! Hank keeps his kennel clean and is working on crate training. As he has started to feel better, he has shown us that he is a sweet dog, that wants to connect with his humans. He wags his tail eagerly with the anticipation of meeting new people. He is just as happy when he meets another dog too! Hank was dog tested with another older female at our rescue and he did fantastic! They were running and playing and giving each other kisses so we he wouldn't mind having a canine brother or sister! Hank's new family will need to keep him on his special diet so that his allergies are kept in check. We have a list of the items that Hank is allergic to which will be shared with his adopters so he can remain as healthy as can be! He is recently neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and ready to join you and your family today! Even though we love Hank dearly, he deserves a better life than living in a kennel at the shelter.
