Hank's Story

Hank (#45) was rescued from a 110+ breeder hoarding case (the Heartland Hoarding Dogs) in North Texas.

Since coming into the rescue, Hank has made so much progress in his foster home. He is housetrained and crate trained, great around dogs of all personalities (submissive when he needs to be, corrects when appropriate), cats, and even farm animals like free range chickens and pigs. Hank is also leash trained and has been doing very well on his walks, especially when walked with another leash-confident dog. He has also been in environments with small kids and has been safe and respectful of them. Hank has a playful side and loves running with his dog friends and frolicking in sprinklers!

Hank is very food motivated and will take treats (especially high value ones) from people. He is getting used to touch/pets and is calm getting petted and handled by someone once he gets to know them a little bit. He really loves following his person around the yard and house and chooses to hang out close to people - with lots of time, patience and understanding of under socialized dogs from this background, we believe that Hank will develop into an affectionate, loyal and overall wonderful companion for a family.

Hank's journey has only just started and he will continue to blossom in the months and years to come!
