Meet Hank
Meet Hank, a striking two-year-old German Shepherd tipping the scales at a robust 75 lbs. Hank is not just another pretty face; he's a sweetheart with a loyal heart and an adventurous spirit, ready to leap into a loving home—quite literally!
Hank's athletic ability is as impressive as his loyalty; he can clear a 6-foot fence with room to spare. For this reason, Hank's ideal home would come with a securely fenced yard where he can stretch his legs safely and enjoy the great outdoors without any Houdini acts.
Despite his occasional selective attitude towards some male dogs, Hank is a true ladies' man and gets along famously with all female dogs he meets. He's also had positive interactions with selected male dogs, provided introductions are handled slowly and carefully. Currently, Hank lives harmoniously with humans of all ages, from a 55-year-old woman to a 23-year-old and a 35-year-old man, soaking up affection and showing a particular fondness for male companionship.
Energy-wise, Hank is an active fellow who would thrive with a family that can provide lots of outdoor play, exploration, and exercise. He's not the type for slow walks; this boy prefers a more vigorous routine to match his high energy levels.
Inside the home, Hank is a well-mannered companion with free roam of the house and yard, thanks to a doggie door. He loves his chew toys and engages eagerly in activities that are intellectually stimulating, keeping him both physically and mentally engaged.
Hank's story is one of resilience; rescued from the harsh streets of North Houston, this country boy has been fully vetted and treated for heartworms, and he's ready to find a forever home where he can live out his days in happiness and health.
