Hank's Story

Hi! My name is Hank! I'm about 3 years old. A local shelter brought me up from a shelter in West Virginia where I was going to be euthanized. I'm fantastic with dogs! I love to be around dogs. But I'm a very timid guy with people. I used to be afraid to be touched. The folks at the shelter thought that I had been abused. I used to be really afraid of leashes. (The folks at the shelter thought I had been beaten with a leash). Anyways, the shelter transferred me to Nittany Beagle Rescue. So here I am! The folks at NBR are working with me to become less timid and afraid. I'm really making great progress! I'm living in a boarding kennel right now, & I'm doing fine. But I would really like to go to a temporary home or a forever home! I need a home where the people can work with me slowly and gently. I would probably do best in a quiet, low-key home. A home with another dog would be best. The other dog will make me feel secure. I will run away if scared, and so precautions are needed to make sure I don't run out the door. I will probably need work on housetraining and house manners. I weigh about 30 lbs. I may sound like a lot, but I am so worth it! Please think about making me part of your family! You can see how frightened I was in my 1st day with NBR! More photos are coming soon! Kennel License #4068

Nittany Beagle Rescue's Adoption Policy
Thank you for your interest in adopting a rescue dog & Nittany Beagle Rescue! We are a foster-home based rescue. We hold showings on the 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month at Lyons Kennels in Bellefonte, PA from 11am - 1pm. You can meet some of our dogs then! Please email or send a PM on our FB page if you want to know if a particular dog will be at the showing. If you are interested in a particular dog, or a type of dog, please submit an application to foster or adopt (it's the same application form). Once you have an approved application for a dog, we will connect you with the dog's foster parent. Typically the potential adopter & foster talk on the telephone first. Then if the dog seems like a good fit, we arrange a personal meet & greet.
