Hambone's Story
BACKGROUND: Ham was found wandering and never claimed. We pulled him from the dog pound located in Killingly. Since then he has been bounced around to different homes for multiple reasons.
DESCRIPTION: Ham is a smart and confident dog; he spends his days hanging out in a pack playgroup with his dog friends. He's a super active boy, about 3 years old and 55#, who loves to go for walks, run in the park, wrestle with his best dog friends and he also enjoys learning - he's a star student at obedience class!
Hammy loves toys - stuffies are meant to be destroyed, balls are meant to be fetched, and chew toys, well...he loves to chew.
NEEDS: Ham needs activity and humans who will provide structure and clear boundaries. He would thrive in a dog savvy household with someone who wanted to dabble in sports to keep his mind engaged. He's always ready to try new things!
ENERGY LEVEL: High
FAVORITE ACTIVITIES: Playing fetch, walking and hiking, probably biking - anything that keeps him moving.
DOGS: Yes, he does well with most other dogs.
FOOD: He does not share his food. We never condone feeding dogs together especially when new to each other; this is a totally manageable thing. He eats in a crate and is housed with other dogs, and does not have any issues with food in his foster home. He has been returned because of food issues but again, this can be easily managed.
CATS: No.
KIDS: Ham has done well with kids in the past. If there are children in the home, they should be dog-savvy older teenagers.
HOUSE TRAINED: Yes
Neutered, microchipped, 4DX negative.
Adoption fee: Donation.
Vet references required.
