Location: Bakersfield, CA

Meet Hagrid, our gentle giant Dalmatian (85 lbs)! Approx 3 years old.

Look at that face, how can you not love him?

He’s a laid-back, relaxed guy who does things on his own time. He’ll let you know when he wants attention or isn’t by your side.

Once on the move, he’s great on leash, does awesome at the dog park with other dogs, strangers, in stores, or even chilling at a restaurant. He is very social and enjoys all the attention that Dalmatians draw.

He gave us quite a scare with seizures, but they are now managed with daily medications and he has been seizure free.

He can be very vocal when he wants something, rather demanding actually. His new home will need to be diligent with not letting him "rule" the house.

Hagrid is great with other dogs and could care less about cats. Save the Dalmatians and Others Canine Rescue's Adoption Policy
The first step in our adoption process is for the prospective adopter to complete our Adoption Application Questionnaire which helps us best match you with the the dog that would be most suited to your home environment and expectations. Email us at info@savethedals.org with the name of the dog that interests you and we will send you our Adoption Application Questionnaire. If based on the Application Questionnaire we think one of our dogs is a good match to your home environment and expectations, we will follow up with a phone call, advise you of the adoption fee, schedule a home visit if applicable, and arrange a meet and greet with the dog. Adopters are also required to sign our Adoption Contract; you will be provided a copy of the contract for you to review and ask questions before you adopt the dog. Note that we often have multiple applicants wanting to adopt the same dog. Our selection process is not based on whose application we receive first. It is based on who we believe will be the best match for the dog, allowing for the greatest success of a high quality, loving forever home, with the least likelihood of the dog needing to be returned to rescue. We commit to the life of each dog we rescue, such that at any point in the life of the dog if its adopter is no longer able to keep the dog, the adopter signs our adoption contract agreeing that they will return the dog to Save The Dalmatians and Others Canine Rescue. The dog is not to be turned into an animal shelter.
