Haddie's Story

Meet Haddie! We first learned of Haddie from a volunteer at the rural county shelter where she had been brought in as a stray. Haddie just wasn't handling the stress of the shelter well at all and was almost completely shut down.

As soon as we got Haddie back to Atlanta and into a foster home we noticed a few things about her...she had definitely been mistreated in the past; was pretty timid but oh so sweet; and she got along with both other dogs and cats but didn't really engage with them a whole lot. What we didn't notice about her right away was that she was pregnant! Ms Haddie gave birth to 8 very large, very healthy puppies and was one of the best mama's we have had in a long time!

Now that her puppies are all grown and weaned, Haddie is ready to find her forever family! Her confidence has blossomed during her time with us and she is the most sweet and loving girl who loves to be with her person! She co-exists with the other dogs in her foster home well, but doesn't interact with them a whole lot so she would likely do just as well as the only spoiled princess in the home as well.

As is common with dogs rescued from rural areas, Haddie did test positive for heartworm disease. RMG utilizes a slow kill protocol for treatment and provides all medications needed. After successfully completing treatment, there are no lasting health affects from heartworm disease typically so Haddie will still have a long and healthy life!

Interested in adopting? Rescue Me Ga Inc's Adoption Policy
We have an application process that we require for any adoption. The application can be found on our website at www.rmgdogs.org - its the first step in our process and required before we set up a time for you to meet the dog you are interested in …. ALL of our dogs are completely vetted - all vaccines - spay or neuter - dewormings - chip - heart worm tested and treated if needed and ready to be loved. WE are foster based which means our dogs are in homes or temporary boarding when we rescue them -- we know their personalities and what would be their best fit! Our dogs come from a rural Georgia shelter and often we take in surrenders from families facing difficult situations….. WE do post many dogs still in need at animal control as well as all who have been saved already that are in foster homes. We do NOT operate a facility where you can visit the dogs unless you contact us to possibly meet one already in a foster
