Gypsy's Story

Meet Gypsy! The sweetest girl.

Gypsy is a bouncy, cheerful, and endlessly curious 1.5-year-old mixed breed who weighs in at 41 lbs of pure sunshine. She's got a big heart, a playful soul, and a smile that lights up the room (and your walks).

This sweet girl was found abandoned on the Rockaway boardwalk and brought to the Queens Animal Care Center, shortly after having a litter of puppies, who sadly were not found with her. Despite what she's been through, Gypsy's spirit remains joyful, affectionate, and eager to love.

Gypsy is a classic "happy tail" dog she's always wagging, always curious, and always ready for her next adventure. She adores playing tug-of-war with soft toys, loves zooming around with her humans, and will occasionally humor you with a game of fetch (she might not bring it back, but it's fun while it lasts!).

She's crate-trained (just a little whine at first before settling in), house-trained, and leash-trained (will tug a tiny bit, especially near doors or kids). At night, she sleeps soundly like a perfect house guest. She's currently working on “sit” and is eager to learn more, especially if treats are involved!

Gypsy is still learning boundaries when it comes to play, so a home with older kids or adults who can give her a mix of play and structure would be ideal. She's likely good with other dogs and would love an active buddy to bounce around with. She's flexible and would thrive in many types of homes if there's love, walks, and time to burn off her youthful energy.

At her core, Gypsy is just a young, resilient pup excited to finally have the love and stability she deserves. She's the type of dog who'll make your day better just by being around. whether you're out on an energizing walk or just lounging together while she gnaws on a toy nearby.

Why We Love Gypsy:

Age:

1.5 years

Weight:

41 lbs

House Habits

Crate-trained
House-trained
Sleeps through the night
Likely dog-friendly, best with playful or older kids

Favorite things

Friendly energy, loves tug-of-war, zoomies, and attention

Leash manners

Great on leash (just a little curious pulling!)

Commands

Working on basic commands
Very food- and praise-motivated

Gypsy's Ideal Home:

Gypsy would do best with an active person or family who enjoys walks, playtime, and positive reinforcement training.
