Gypsy's Story

Gypsy has been in rescue since August 2024, and what she’s hoping for most is something very simple: an adopter who chooses her.

Gypsy is about 10 years old and has so much love left to give. She forms deep bonds and truly shines when she feels safe, understood, and loved. Once she trusts you, her loyalty is steady and heartfelt — the kind of love that comes from a dog who knows what it means to wait.

Gypsy will need to be an only dog in her forever home. She can be reactive to other dogs, though with patient, consistent work she has learned to be around certain dogs within the rescue. Because of this, a secure fenced yard is required, along with an adopter who understands that the best matches are built thoughtfully.

Gypsy isn’t looking for just any home — she’s looking for the right one. A calm space. A kind heart. Someone willing to meet her where she is and let her settle in at her own pace. Mercy Rescue and Adoption's Adoption Policy
Adoption Process: If you are interested in adopting one of our pets, please complete an application. Application can be found at http://www.mercyrescueandadoption.com/adopt-a-pet.html. Completing an application does not hold the pet for you. A visit can be arranged to meet the prospective pet after an application is on file. A home-visit will be required. We check personal references and vet references prior to all adoptions. All of our animals are spayed/neutered before they are adopted. Approval of any application is at the discretion of the Animal Shelter volunteers, and will be made in the interests of finding the best permanent home for our animals. You must be at least 18 years old to adopt a pet. No animal will be adopted to persons that have a confirmed history of neglect or abuse of animals. No animal will be adopted to persons that have a repeat history of losing, giving away, selling, or having animals injured or killed. Only dogs that are physically and temperamentally suited to living outdoors will be adopted as outside dogs. Dogs that are adopted as outside pets must have a fenced or an adequately sized enclosed area to live in and suitable shelter.
