Gwenny's Story

This is a courtesy post for rescue friends that have dedicated much time into saving street dogs of Macedonia. Today we are helping them share "Gwenny" ❤

Gwenny is a 4 year old, 70lb. Sar Mountain Shepherd mix. She did not inherit the long hair that these dogs usually have, but she certainly has captured their beautiful and unique coloring. The breed is generally peaceful and laid back - and such is the case with Gwenny. She is on the shy side and takes a bit of time to open up. Once she does, her personality really shines!

Gwenny is not your typical Labrador type dog. She is very laid back and is not always vying for attention. She prefers resting on her comfy doggy bed with her family near by. She is up for a bit a play time (with other dogs or with her humans) but when done, she normally returns to her normal, comfy spot.

Gwenny is house and crate trained. Although she would prefer not to be in a closed space or room. She has been completely trustworthy in her foster home uncrated and not put away in a room.

Gwenny enjoys her walks and for whatever reason, likes to be on your left side. Not sure why? Just what she prefers. She is friendly with other dogs but plays gently, not all over crazy 😮 And gentle introductions with other people and other dogs should always be done as she is shy and can get overwhelmed.

Gwenny's ideal home would be one that is on the low key side where she can relax. She enjoys the company of other dogs, as long as they are not super hyper. "Chill" is what this girl likes the most. We prefer a fully fenced in yard for Gwen and think that kids 7 and up would be ideal.

Overall, Gwenny is a very sweet, laid back, a little on the shy side, dog. She is family oriented and would do well in a house where there is not a lot of hectic activity. She is fully vetted (spayed, vaccinated and heartworm negative). She is also microchipped.

If you think you could be the right home for Gwenny, please send an inquiry through Petfinder or email us at compassdogrescue@gmail.com Gwen is currently fostered in the Chicago area, but arrangements to bring her here to MI for an approved meet and greet is very doable!
