Meet Gwen

My name is Gwen. I'm a 6-month old Great Pyrenees/Beagle mix puppy - and my brother is Reggie, who is also available for adoption. We are together in our foster home and getting used to learning house rules. I don't look a lot like my brother, but I have the same size paws as him even though I'm a lot smaller.
I am full of life and love to run and play. I have learned to sit and am learning to come when called. Sometimes the smells in the backyard are way more interesting, but I'm working on that. I want to go to school so I can learn more manners and be the best dog I can be. Mom says I have a great nose, so Scent Class training might be a lot of fun.
I like all kinds of toys and I will chew on Nylabones and other hard bones. Because I'm a puppy, I like to put a lot of things in my mouth. I can easily be distracted and I am learning how to "leave it." I will do anything for a treat and am very food motivated. Mom says that will help me in school. I think I'm going to like school if I get lots of treats. I get a cube that drops out kibble when I go in my crate which is a lot of fun. I also have discovered frozen peanut butter inside a hollow bone is absolutely divine.
I sleep in my crate overnight and do well when I'm crated when no one is home to supervise me. I have just about perfected my housebreaking skills, but may have accidents after moving to a new home.
I used to be really pushy to get to my cat siblings but I am learning that they don't like my style of play. They can walk by me now and I don't try to race them anymore.
I love being with other dogs, so I'd really like to go to a home that has an active, resident dog for me to romp and play. I'm looking for an active family who can keep up with my energy. I am a puppy, after all.... I would like a family who will take me to school so I can be the best dog I can be. My Foster Mom wants to be sure my future family understands I have Great Pyrenees mannerisms, such as climbing, stubborn tendencies and I should have a solid fence (in case I decide to climb it).
Adoption application, home visit and adoption fee required. If you would like to apply for adoption, please complete the online application at www.furryfriendsnetwork.com. Look under ADOPT tab. Contact generalinfo@furryfriendsnetwork.com for questions or if issues are encountered with the adoption application or general adoption process.
Foster Homes are desperately needed in order to help more animals like this one. Please consider opening your heart and home to a homeless animal. To find out more about becoming a Foster Parent, see our website at www.furryfriendsnetwork.com. Look under VOLUNTEER tab.
As part of our adoption agreement, we require that you and your adopted canine attend a minimum of one group basic obedience course within 4 months of adoption. If adopting a puppy under 4 months old, we also require a group puppy socialization course be started immediately upon adoption.
In addition, we require that puppies under 6 months of age will not be alone for more than 4 hours at a time in an 8 hour workday. We highly encourage working families to consider older puppies and adult dogs, but if your heart is set on a puppy, please consider doggie daycare.
