Gus's Story
Gus IS AVAILABLE (updated 12-11-2025). To meet any of our dogs, complete our online adoption application on our website: http://www.coastalgsr.org/dogs/gus Meet Gus! Gus came to us after he was dumped on Christmas Eve behind a Walmart. He was picked up by Animal Control and we happened to be at the shelter when he came in with the officers. He was about 40 lbs overweight and had clearly been left to survive on his own. Thankfully, we had a foster home who took him in and started to work on his weight and his coat. About a week into his foster care, big boy Gus had a seizure. He was treated by the wonderful neuro team at VCA West Coast and hasn't had a seizures since! He is on a low dose of anti-seizure meds that he will stay on. Gus is a wonderful dog- sweet and stunningly handsome! He adores kids and loves his walks and any field trips! We believe Gus is about 4-5 years old. As he has been on his fitness journey, he is looking younger and younger! The minimum adoption donation is $375 for adults and $500 for puppies. This helps cover vet care, boarding fees, and other expenses. All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
