Gus's Story

Adoptable Dachshund Gus is a 14-year-old dachshund mix weighing 22 pounds, and he is truly the definition of a gentle soul. He may be an older pup, but he still has plenty of love (and even a little pep!) to share with the right family.

Gus doesn’t see or hear very well, but it doesn’t slow him down in daily life at all. He confidently uses the doggie door like a champ and navigates his world with ease. While he isn’t a big cuddler, Gus loves being close to his people – he happily follows his foster dad around the house and settles nearby just to be close.

Gus’ Forever Home Checklist ✅:
– A fenced yard would be ideal, but it’s not a deal breaker.
– Gus would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time and understands that he’s perfectly content just being near you.

🐾 Gus at a Glance:
– Good with dogs: Yes! Gus previously had pancreatitis and is better but is still being monitored by the vet. Gus is on monthly heartworm preventatives.

Medical Donations
We depend on donations from caring people, like you, to make a difference in the lives of dogs. He’s not asking for much, just a loving place where he can quietly enjoy his golden years by your side. Adoption Fee: $150.

If you believe you could provide a safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs’ name on it.

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.

The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life.
