Gus's Story

ATTENTION: All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs. If you find a dog you want to meet in person, please go to www.secondchancedogrescue.org and complete an application. We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt.

// // Meet Gus! This darling 10-year-old, 9-pound Chihuahua is the definition of a gentle old soul. Gus is a quiet, easygoing little guy who enjoys long naps in cozy spots and gets adorably excited when it’s mealtime. He walks nicely on leash, happily following his person or a canine buddy, and does well with both people and other dogs as long as introductions are calm and not overwhelming.

Gus is still building his confidence and prefers not to be rushed—he may shy away from being picked up at first, but he is never snappy or reactive. With a little patience and consistency, he continues to grow more trusting each day. He’s working on his potty routine and does well when taken outside regularly. Best of all, he shows no signs of separation anxiety and is truly a low-maintenance companion.

Gus would thrive in a peaceful home that appreciates the quiet sweetness of a senior pup and is happy to let him blossom at his own pace. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. His adoption fee is $200. If you’re looking for a loyal little shadow to share your days (and your couch), Gus just might be your guy.

All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.

Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog.
