Gus's Story
Angus aka Gus is an 8 year old, purebred, neautered, male Newfoundland. He weighs 110 pounds and he’s a total love bug. Gus isn't much of a player, but is loyal and loves being with his family, whether it's sitting or sleeping next to them, following from room to room, or just lying on the patio with his 2 or 4 legged friends enjoying nature. Gus doesn't want to miss anything. He loves car rides and is a terrific passenger. He gets in, lays down and doesn't get up until the car stops and he knows it's time to get out. Then, he's very much the gentleman and will wait until told it's ok to jump down. Although Gus loves his kibble and treats, he is not particularly food motivated. If he's nervous, Gus will pancake when unsure of things, but can be gently coaxed to get up and continue on the journey. When surrendered, Gus weighed 115. He is down to 110 pounds and needs to be closer to 100 to help keep his hips healthy.

Gus is totally house broken, but doesn't like crates at all. And that's ok because he is a great family member and stays out of things. He doesn't counter surf and if told not to do something, it only takes once. He is a people pleaser and wants to make you happy. He's great with children.

As an eight-year-old, neutered male, Gus has some skin issues. They have improved with a grain-free diet and a daily dose of salmon oil.

Our adoption fee for Gus is $200 and we have a formal adoption agreement that will require signatures.
A fenced yard with a minimum height of 4-feet is required for adoption.
We cover Western MO., Kansas, Western IA., Nebraska, Northeastern OK and Northeastern AR. We only adopt out in our covered areas.
To request an application or contact us with any questions please use the contact link at the top of the page.
To see more Newfoundland rescues or to learn more about our rescue program see our clubs website. www.hanc.net
To learn more about the Newfoundland breed, see the Newfoundland Club of America's website. www.ncanewfs.org
