GUMBO's Story
Gumbo's Doggie Day Out on 2/21/2026: We started off with a walk at McKinley Park, where she used the bathroom on the grass and took in all the sights and smells of the morning. We walked into the neighborhood and made a pitstop at Temple Coffee. She enjoyed a pup cup and sat by our side on the patio. She did great around people of all ages and the other doggies enjoying their morning on the patio. We then headed in the car to Drake’s Brewing Co. where we had lunch - for her some treats and lots of water! She layed down next to the table while we eat pizza and basked in the sun and napped. The dog was around several kids. The dog stayed seemed interested but stayed still and calm. When children approached, the dog let them pet her and she sniffed their hands without lunging forward. The kids were aged between 2 and 6. An absolute joy! Great on a leash, great around other dogs (doesn’t bark at all or lunge). Very affectionate - loves pets, hugs, kisses, treats. Will even sit on your lap as if she’s a tiny puppy! Very well adjusted in social settings (coffee shop, outdoor restaurant, walking paths, parks). Just the sweetest girl. Gumbo's adoption fee has been paid for with a donation from Tim Pantle
