Guinness's Story

Meet Guinness - A Loyal, Playful Gentleman Ready for His Fresh Start
Guinness is a 2-year-old Shepherd with a big heart and a bright spirit. This well-mannered, loyal boy is looking for a fresh start and a family who will give him the patience and love he truly deserves.
Guinness originally came to the shelter as an owner surrender and was later returned by a previous adopter due to behavior concerns with another dog in the home. That experience caused him some emotional trauma-but thanks to his time in foster care, we've seen his joyful, goofy side return!
His foster parent describes him as high energy and playful, with a special love for fetch and outdoor adventures. He's also very smart-he'll even pick up his empty food bowl and drop it at your feet when he's ready for dinner! Guinness is housebroken and will bark to let you know when he needs to go outside. Like many clever dogs, he's curious and not afraid to explore, so you'll want to keep tempting items off the counter and close doors to rooms you'd rather him avoid.
While Guinness loves to play, he also enjoys calm walks and quiet moments with his favorite people. Once he feels safe, he shows his affectionate, deeply loyal side. He's done especially well with older children (9+), who he seems to trust right away and adores spending time with.
Because of his past experience, Guinness would do best as the only pet in the home-your one and only best friend
