Guapo's Story

Meet adorable little Guapo, an approximately 7 year old chihuahua who is a true survivor! Guapo came to us after spending 5 months in a town holding kennel with his canine siblings after his owner passed away and wasn't discovered for a week. Despite such trauma, Guapo is so loving and bonds quickly and deeply.

Although he tolerates other dogs, Guapo would prefer to be an only pup and receive all of the spoiling! He loves to cuddle and sleeps under the covers with his foster mom. He is not a fan of the crate and doesn't like to be alone, and given his previous situation, we completely understand. We would love to see Guapo adopted by someone who is home most of the time and just wants a faithful companion to snuggle up with and pamper!

Guapo is not house trained and doesn't seem to consistently use pee pads, so his foster uses a belly band to eliminate accidents. We don't know what life was like in his previous home, but with consistency, Guapo can hopefully learn to use pee pads more regularly.

Guapo has been fully vetted including neuter, dental with extractions, up to date on vaccines, microchip, and treated with flea/tick/heartworm preventatives. He also had absolutely horrible skin when we first took him in from the holding kennel, and he has improved tremendously, but would do best staying on a diet for sensitive skin and medicated baths/mousse will be helpful too. Guapo's adoption fee is $275.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS:

- The first step towards adoption is to complete an adoption application, which can be found online at our website www.roadtriprescues.com, under the “ADOPT” tab.

- Do not use the Petfinder links or email to ask us about our adoptable dog listings - we do not always receive these messages and will not respond to them.

- Please do not ask if a dog is still available - we do our best to update their status as quickly as possible. If a dog is listed for adoption, it means we have not yet approved an adopter and are still accepting applications.

- PLEASE NOTE THAT ONLY APPROVED ADOPTERS WILL BE PERMITTED TO MEET OUR RESCUES - WE ARE A FOSTER BASED RESCUE AND ALL OF OUR DOGS LIVE WITH US AS FAMILY.

Thanks for considering a rescue pup!

Road Trip Rescues Inc.
