Grover's Story
I might not be the loudest one in the room, but give me a little time and you'll see me start to open up in my own way.

My name is Grover, and I've been here since 11/10/2025. When I first step into something new, I take a moment to figure things out. I watch, I listen, and I move at my own pace. But once I realize everything is okay, my body softens, my tail comes up, and I settle into being part of things.

With other dogs, I do best with calm, gentle friends who don't put too much pressure on me. I've had some really nice moments just hanging out with other dogs, relaxing side by side, and even starting to explore play a little. Sometimes I'm still figuring out what to do when play gets going, but I'm trying, and I've already come a long way. I've even helped other shy dogs feel more comfortable once I settle in, which says a lot about the kind of energy I bring.

I can be a sensitive guy, especially when things get loud or overwhelming. Sudden noises or too much intensity can make me unsure, so I do best in calmer environments where I don't feel rushed or pressured. When I feel safe, though, you'll see a much more confident version of me come through.

There is one dog here I just don't get along with, and I've made that pretty clear, but outside of that, I've shown that I can coexist and build positive relationships when introductions are thoughtful and the vibe stays easygoing.

My energy is on the gentler side. I enjoy moving around and socializing, but I'm not the type to come in at full speed. I'm more about easing into things and building comfort as I go.

What I really need is someone patient who understands that confidence doesn't always show up right away. If you give me a little space to adjust, I'll meet you there, and once I do, you'll see just how good of a companion I can be.

If you're looking for a softer, thoughtful kind of dog who just needs a moment to shine, come meet me. I'd love the chance to get to know you.
