Griffin- IN A FOSTER HOME's Story
GRIFFIN IS IN A FOSTER HOME AND WILL NOT BE AT OUR MEET AND GREET EVENTS ON SUNDAYS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

Griffin has had a bit of a set back with his socialization so we are giving him more time to adjust before he will be available.

Griffin is a 2 year old (estimated age) mini golden doodle. He is up-to-date on all vaccines, has been neutered, has been heart worm tested negative and had a dental completed in May.

Griffin is a puppy mill dog. This means that he has been void of any direct attention, love and doesn’t really understand how to be a dog. Everything for him is a new experience and this can be frightening for him. He is timid around new people and takes some time to warm up to strangers. He will need to learn to trust you. Everything will need to be done in baby steps with him. Because of his young age, the ideal home would be with a young active family to help match his playful energy that we know is in him.

Puppy mill dogs are easily spooked and are considered high flight risks dogs (he got away from a previous rescue on 2 occasions). For this reason, he must have a physical fenced yard (no invisible fences, kennels, tie outs). This, unfortunately, is not negotiable. A home visit to view the fenced area may be required.

Griffin’s new family will need to be patient and understanding as he starts to understand what a dog’s life should be. We want him to understand love, walks, toys, unconditional love. Griffin would benefit in a home where someone is home a lot and will have to work one on one with him.

With the help of other dogs in the rescue, Griffin has started being more confident. For this reason, we feel another social, confident dog in the home would provide him security, but also would be a teacher for him and help to show him the ropes.

Because of Griffin’s nervousness, we feel kids over the age of 8 would be best.

Griffin will require regular grooming.

It is helpful for you to bring pictures and/or videos of your backyard fenced area. Additionally, it would be helpful for you to bring your other dogs as well so that we can see the interaction between them.

To complete a pre adoption application go to https://tinyurl.com/LETS-PreAdopt-app

Adoption fee $350 (payable by cash, check or Venmo)

We do not typically do day of adoptions.

No out of state adoptions.

Minimum age to adopt is 21.
