Griffin's Story

Meet Griffin! Griffin is an 8-month-old terrier mix who has already proven just how resilient and special he is. When he first arrived, this little guy was terrified-shaking in his kennel, barking at bigger dogs, and afraid to even go outside. Fast forward less than two weeks, and Griffin is now running freely through the house with other dogs, happily exploring the yard, and making great progress with potty training. He's still a puppy at heart and has that classic terrier energy-curious, playful, and always on the move. Griffin is learning how to share toys and continues to improve every day, but he'll need a patient, understanding home that's committed to continuing his training and socialization. Griffin is not a couch potato. He's looking for an active family who enjoys playtime, enrichment, and helping a young dog build confidence and good manners. With consistency, structure, and love, this boy is going to make an incredibly loyal and fun companion. Save Monroe Strays's Adoption Policy

Thank you for your interest in adopting from us! We are an all volunteer, 501c3 animal rescue in southeast Michigan. Our mission is to place all of our animals in loving, permanent homes. You are not purchasing a pet from us; you are adopting a living, breathing, creature that deserves safety, love and care. Your answers on the application are assurance to us that the animals we care for are going to good, permanent homes. All of the information on the application is confidential. Feline adoption fees - $125 for kittens under 8 months, $100 if over 8 months, and $60 if over 9 years old. Canine adoption fees - $350 for puppies under 1 year, $300 if over 1 year, and $200 if over 7 years old. Foster-to-adopt and Adoption fees are non-refundable. We do not use a first-come, first-serve process when adopting out our animals. Instead, we focus on best fit for each individual animal. The process is intended to ensure a long-term successful adoption for both the family and pet. Dogs can live 10-15 years, and cats can live 15-20 years, so please make sure your lifestyle allows the time, patience, and ability to cover expenses your new pet will need over the years. Will you be travelling frequently, moving soon, or having children? Responsible pet ownership includes as-needed and routine veterinary care, quality food, preventatives, and other supplies. You must be at least 21 years old to adopt. All of our adoptable animals have had a complete veterinarian checkup. Our dogs and puppies are heartworm tested. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, dewormed, and have received age-appropriate vaccines before going to their forever homes.
