GREY's Story

Hola! My name is GREY. I just arrived on January 29 from not weather to cold weather, but I’m adjusting nicely to it – whoa what is all this white stuff! I was abandoned at a Vet clinic in Mexico where a very kind woman rescued me so I could get to Canada where I have been told I will find a wonderful family who will love me. I’m pretty darn cute as well – don’t you think?!!!

Everyone who has met me says I am very loving, sweet, and friendly, plus I have lots of energy and can be quite mischievous. I am young so I’m going to need positive reinforcement training as I need to learn my boundaries and improve on my manners. My Foster Mom says I am a bossy female with my foster dog brother but I’m learning to be better. I love to be close to my human as I enjoy cuddling and getting lots of attention – I guess you would say I’m a lap dog! Do I need another dog to live with – probably not as I would do best as the only dog. I would be fine to be socialized with dogs outside so I can have some fun. I do shed a little. My housetraining is still a work in progress but I’m improving.

I would do best in a home with a fenced in yard where I can run and play. Squirrels interest me so no one is sure if a cat is in my future home. No condos as I can bark at times and I need the space to run around to expand my energy. I enjoy getting treats, so that really helps with training me. I am doing OK on a leash/harness and really enjoy my walks, plus meeting others! Further leash training is still needed.

This is what my Foster Mom says about me: “Grey is so adorable and affectionate! She loves to stay close to you and cuddle. She will make a great lap dog. Grey can be bossy and likes to demand attention but is getting better as she settles more into this environment -- I can redirect her with a chew bone and she is quite happy. She gets along with my dog, but she can be a little pushy so it is best she be the only dog in the home. She is going to require positive reinforcement training. She is eating well and enjoys her treats. Not only is Grey sweet and loving (and active!), she is very smart and can learn quickly, especially if it involves treats. I am working on house training her and it is improving. Grey is going to be a great dog and a welcome addition to her new home, especially if you are willing to put in the time, patience and training”

I hope I sound like the dog you want to join your family. I am looking forward to meeting you soon, so please put in an application for me. I am very excited to find my forever home!

•••

As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! An application for me can be found at www.justpawsanimalrescue.com.

Please note that although many of our dogs get along with children, we are not able to adopt to any household with kids under the age of 8 years old. This is a stipulation of our insurance and is not a reflection on suitability of the potential adopter.

All new pet parents will receive 6 weeks complimentary Pet Secure Accident and Illness Protection for any dog adopted from Just Paws. Once activated, the trial will cover veterinary bills up to $500.00 for accidents or illnesses, excluding pre-existing conditions. Please note that Just Paws is not responsible for insurance issues that may arise with your chosen veterinarian
